Homorod is located in the Brașov county and is one of the three villages that form the Homorod commune, with its first documented mention dating back to the year 1250.  The village is situated 4 km away from the old town of Rupea. It's important not to confuse this with Băile Homord in Harghita, located at a distance of 40 km to the North-East.
