Rope Street, also called Strada Sforii, is a narrow street made of cobbles found in Brasov, Romania. It is the narrowest street in Eastern Europe and the third narrowest on the continent, measuring just 111 centimetres (44 inches) at its narrowest point. The street length is 80 meters. The street was built in the 15th century as a shortcut for firefighters and has become a famous tourist attraction.
A legend says that in medieval times young lovers whose parents did not approve of their relationship would hide here to kiss. The legend that has lasted for years also says that young lovers who kiss on Sforii Street will stay together forever.
